Thank you note to our Field Hockey and Soccer teams from the Georgetown Senior Community Center for their food drive.

Dear Teams,

Thank you so much for delivering all of the wonderful food gathered by the Girls and Boys Soccer and Field Hockey teams during their senior games to the Georgetown Senior Community Center yesterday.  The donations to the Council on Aging Marketplace (food pantry) are much appreciated and will be well shared within the community.

During the last fiscal year, 62 individuals visited or received 221 deliveries from the COA Marketplace, a more than 50 percent increase than the previous year.  The on-going pandemic has impacted older adults in a number of ways but food insecurity has increased in our area during this time.  The COA Marketplace bridges some of that gap for many people and the food donations gathered by the student athletes will help to further that work in the community.

We send our thanks to the many student athletes and family members involved in gathering the food donations. These donations will have a real and tangible impact on many lives.

Best regards,

Colleen
