Reminder: Parent Meetings About Student Risk Survey Coming Up

I want to remind parents of 6th and 7th graders about the parent information sessions that have been scheduled to discuss the upcoming Attitudes and Behavior Survey which will be administered just before Thanksgiving. We anticipate that parents might have concerns and or need more information about the rationale for administering this survey , the process for administering the survey and the actual survey itself.  A few years ago we gave his survey to students in grades 9 and 11 and planned to administer it our 7th graders. Admittedly, the roll-out was not as smooth as it could have been because there was not an opportunity to have a discussion with parents and we ended up not administering it because there was not enough time to communicate effectively. As we all should learn for these missed opportunities, we did not want to make that same mistake again. We want to give all parents the chance to learn as much as they need to know in order to make the decision as to whether or not to allow your child to complete the survey.

These meeting will  be held on :

Penn Brook- Wednesday, November 8th at 6:30 PM

Middle School- Wednesday, November 15th at 5:30 PM

Project Coordinator Tina Los will be at these meetings along with school staff  to lead the discussion. Tina  has a lot of experience administering these surveys and analyzing and using the results. I know she has been very helpful to us in planning this initiative and I know if you attend, it will be worth your time.
