Junior Senor Prom A Beautiful Event !

Many of us can still remember our prom and hopefully with positive memories but I am sure that the students in the junior and senior classes that attended this year’s event will remember the evening fondly. The setting was gorgeous on the grounds of the Willowdale Estate in Topsfield and every detail of the event was planned to a tee.  This  senior class is a class who likes to be trendsetters and they decided that this year they wanted to try a new venue after previous classes had gone to  the Black Swan Country Club for the past several years.  While that venue is also beautiful and it is local, the students decided on Willowdale after visiting and touring the venue and the rest is history! The main event was held in the large tent that was off the back of the mansion but the prom was stationed in  several rooms throughout the house to enjoy hors d’oeuvres, formal pictures, the photo booth and food/dessert. The tent was decorated beautifully with vases filled with sunflowers and hydrangeas which were artfully arranged by a student and DJ Jeff from Jeff and Maria’s Ice Cream Shop had everyone dancing on the dance floor  until the last song was played  at 10:00 PM.  It was a little cold in the tent but this didn’t seem to dampen the enthusiasm of this crowd!

Every year it is my pleasure to attend the prom along with the other senior activities.   Not only did every one of our students  look great all dressed up but they represented our school so well and we were all very proud of them! It is getting real for the seniors now with just a short number of days left of school and graduation coming up on Saturday June 3rd but they are continuing to make their mark, be trendsetters  and show everyone that they a class to remember.

Special thanks to Senior Class Advisors Liz Marchetti and Beth Felides for all their  work in planning and organizing the prom and making sure every detail was taken care of that evening. It is amazing how many details you have to consider when planning such an event. It is almost like planning a wedding for 200 guests!  To the 20 staff members who chaperoned, thanks for giving up your evening to spend time with this great group of kids! It was very special that the class gave each chaperone  a little gift and my favorite was a hand signed card with a personal message written inside thanking me for being part of their special night  and a special night it was!  My heart is filled with pride and happiness that Prom 2017 will be a wonderful memory for these students to look back on as the years go by. It was a night to remember. That’s for sure!
